Looks like the general concensus is that 90% of the people who were "in" before are still up for it. That's great news. We can move forward from that. Some sort of commitment is necessary if we want to have fun, yet stay authentic.

The German guys are and always will be welcome at any event we are involved in. I myself have heard only very positive things about them and I can't wait to meet them.

As for an orbat, I think it's a good idea if we can try and meet up and discuss such matters. There is a lot of experience and enthusiasm to be harnessed. There are a couple of openings that have appeared now, so they will need to be filled as well. The kit list needs finalising as well. Anthony has sorted out his excellent "starter" sets for new members, so the foundations are all there or will be soon enough.

@Heide! I offered Chris to send him a Reibert, the Reibert is since 1923 the basic book for every soldier, there is all written, from the basics, like how to clean your room in barracks, untill how to be dressed for drill, untill all german commands, the handsigns, how to handle the rifle, how to salute, coloured pictures from all flags, uniforms and ranks etc., lets say a shoolbook, how to become a german soldier. This book is still printed of course every second year with the news. We have from our unitmoney repoduced a exemplar from 1940 for the geman Infantry. I offerd Chris to send him one of our copies, I thought it could be a good help in getting the old school war training in our blood. I would like to be by myself there allways, but it would kill my creditcard  , so I would like to send somebody of you this book, it could be a good help I think. I have seen, that the Guy from The Reich stuff had very good things, we have in our club some kind of rules for the new recruits, I mean a list, what is necessary to get in the first couple month to look like a german soldier, the next step is then, to complete this guy in to the Grenadier Version 2.0 professional, the last step, is then, to get him ready to take alone Moscow  , I mean the Grenadier Version XP office  . Can I open a threat and put there as guideline our list, what a german soldier should have... ??? The Reich Stuff can offer this equipment and we have for he new men a guide, what is necessary in the first few moth. Will you guys continue as Hohenstaufen??? I made for chris already a rubberstamp for your documents etc. for this unit. Dont worry, no money for this is needet, SS must support SS, it was like this and it will like this.

Vorwarts, that sounds like a fantastic idea. Go ahead mate. If you want my address details for sending any paperwork, etc, I'll happily PM it to you. It would be great if we all got ourselves a proper SS Soldbuch filled out, they really look the business!

I agree wholeheartedly with remaining "Hohenstaufen", all of my kit is badged up that way as well and has been since we founded it almost a year ago. It's nice to have a clear conscience that we portray a unit not indicted or convicted of any war crimes.

Ok, so we now have a good few people posted up (not counting our German friends). In no particular order, they are:-

SGT.Heide
Nelz
Stu Dunn
Steve D.
Reich Stuff
JD7
Welsh
Quag
Cholmley Warner
Forester
Stormtrooper Ade
John M
Bob K.
Locutus.

Barring a few stragglers, that's about it I think. That's pretty good numbers without being silly. There should be enough for at least a full section at every game.

Getting hold of a wartime Reiberts copy would be fantastic. The gothic script that they used tp print these documents can be bloody difficult to read though - even if you speak German!! If you like I could attempt an English translation of the bits that pertain to what we do. Just an offer.
